RF engineering services at Fresh
A good RF layout can be the difference between success and failure. Our wireless engineering team has the industry experience and cross-disciplinary technical background to design and develop custom RF solutions or integrate off-the-shelf solutions, taking your product from concept to market for applications up to 18 GHz.
Our end-to-end RF engineering services include:
+ RF engineers working side-by-side with electrical, PCB, firmware, software, and mechanical engineers.
+ Engineering services integrated with industrial design, UI/UX design, cloud architecture, and app development team members.
+ One partner to help you design, prototype, and test your RF solution under one roof and achieve optimized performance for your integrated wireless product.
Comprehensive RF engineering lab technology
Our on-site RF benchtop testing lab features a versatile suite of measurement equipment from Rohde & Schwarz to meet a variety of RF testing needs from 2 Hz to 26.5 GHz.
Contact us to learn about our engineering services, including characterization and RF-related PCB layout review, in addition to troubleshooting services and our included protocol measurement licenses, to perform wireless engineering and create designs that perform as expected.
Design
We use CST Studio Suite for our 3D electromagnetic design engineering and simulation software. Need a custom antenna and/or RF matching circuit designed for your application? Our team has expert wireless engineering antenna designers specializing in 900MHz - 10GHz.
Analyze
CST Studio Suite allows us to analyze the behavior of radio frequency components, circuits, systems, and antennas. Have an existing antenna you want to incorporate with a custom-printed circuit board? Our engineers can analyze system performance and recommend tuning circuitry.
Simulate
Before prototyping, we can simulate designs under a variety of conditions. Trying to pick enclosure material? We can add this to our simulations to predict performance impacts then make design changes to tune for your specific application.

Rapid prototyping for RF applications
The Fresh RF engineering team has invested in an LPKF ProtoMat S104 advanced mechanical milling system to provide rapid on-site prototyping of our antenna designs. This mechanical mill is capable of producing both single and double-sided prototypes.
With its 100,000 rpm spindle motor, 20-position auto-tool changer, 0.5µm resolution, and generous working area (9” x 12” x 0.3”), this mechanical mill is designed explicitly with RF applications in mind. We can manufacture a milled prototype in-house in as little as one day, significantly reducing the time from design engineering to first article testing.
Coming soon: compact anechoic chamber
Fresh's RF engineers are preparing to install a compact anechoic chamber (25 feet long, 10 feet wide, and 12 feet high) to conduct on-site near-field antenna characterization from 1-18GHz to support our RF engineering consulting & RF design practice. We also plan to support informal testing for FCC Part 15/18 radiated emissions testing.
