A science-based app for personalized nutrition
We guided a company in creating a variety of branded assets and digital tools to build a competitive position in a crowded, multi-billion dollar industry
The science underlying vitamins is complex. Human beings need micronutrients in measured quantities for our bodies to function optimally. While you can obtain nutrients through diet, it’s not always possible in a world that’s constantly on the move, where access to healthy food isn’t a guarantee. Vitamin Packs approached us with a problem: they had the science and expertise to create personalized vitamin regimens for their customers. But they lacked a partner who could help them present a unified brand to prospective consumers and investors, explain the science simply and coherently, and create an app that guides users through a science-backed questionnaire to receive their unique vitamin regimen.
Fresh strategists, designers, and developers provided support and consultation in all of the areas listed above. The first step was a multi-day, on-site retreat with Vitamin Packs to better understand their product and enhance our expertise. We also worked closely with their nutritionists and stakeholders to create an effective, simplified message and value proposition, as well as a brand that showcased what makes them different. Lastly, we designed the application and developed the prototype so that Vitamin Packs could present a convincing product to their target audience.

The multi-billion dollar vitamin and dietary supplement industry is highly competitive. The science underlying Vitamin Packs’s business model was rigorous and unparalleled, but the brand they presented to consumers was disjointed and competitors were surpassing them. Additionally, they needed assistance with the technological architecture, optimization, and functionality of their app.
Fresh strategists, designers, and developers were pulled in to consult on branding, UX, and the application’s technical architecture. We delivered a comprehensive product design to position Vitamin Packs as the premier provider of health supplements in the market.
An interactive vitamin advisor
The Vitamin Packs questionnaire is a digital, science-backed, algorithmic model that provides personalized recommendations to customers. Composed of over 50 questions, the questionnaire gathers thousands of data points and measures them within a database to provide each unique recommendation.
In light of the app’s inherent complexity, Fresh designers and developers were tasked with keeping the experience simple and fast. Combining UX principles to keep the app organized, disclose complex information progressively, and enhance usability through motion, we delivered the science in a seamless digital questionnaire. Ultimately, it acted as a proof of concept for Vitamin Packs as they sought additional funding.
