Patrick Mecan

Patrick focuses on custom machine automation and autonomous mobile robot design. He got his start designing and tuning race cars in university and moved on to working on light armored military vehicles. With a keen interest in sustainable agriculture, he began exploring agriculture automation and designing mushroom harvesters and other autonomous vehicles. In addition to robotics, his background spans electro-mechanical integration, where he has designed a number of automation cells with custom pick-and-place machines, conveyor systems, indexers, and pallet elevators. 

His technical passions include all things entrepreneurial, idea/concept generation, and DIY projects involving microcontrollers and actuators. Some of his recent personal projects include a custom thermoforming machine, a murphy bed, and a design for a new generation of automated farming. When he’s not working, he spends his time exploring the Pacific Northwest, summiting mountains, camping, snowboarding, and cycling.
