We set out to highlight PayScale’s approach and unique differentiators in the field of compensation analytics

The Challenge

PayScale helps employers and their employees communicate openly and effectively about compensation. Through the use of big data, they help people obtain accurate real-time information on job market compensation. The challenge was creating a website that effectively conveys the details of their value proposition while also creating a seamless, efficient user experience.

Our Solution

PayScale services two user groups: consumers and businesses. Our task was to create a new visual language that was unified but differentiated, catering to each group but ultimately supporting the larger PayScale brand. We developed the visual language and designed the new site, optimizing access on all browser sizes and devices to provide a consistent brand and messaging experience for all users.

Empowering users with information

For consumers seeking a new job, the site might be accessed on the way to the compensation discussion or during a research session at home. For employers, the same is true. The underlying story is this: users needed seamless access across devices, and mobile responsiveness was imperative.

Our goal was to empower users, both consumers and businesses, to be educated. All aesthetic and structural decisions were made with the notion of empowerment in mind, providing users with a helpful tool in whatever context they accessed the site.
