High-performance fitness wearables
We created TRE & RORA to provide an untethered, smartphone-free fitness experience
We set out to create two distinct, smartphone-free fitness wearables. Distinction was the key: one product was focused and streamlined for high performance athletes, and the other was more inclusive, targeted at everyday users looking to maintain their fitness safely. While the devices were designed for different target users, brand integration and product integrity had to be addressed strategically and intentionally.
TRE and RORA provide an optimized, smartphone-free fitness application experience. Rather than offer an all-in-one diluted experience, these two products address distinct use cases and provide user-specific interactions. An abundance of research and ideation allowed us to develop concepts, from the visual user interface to the PCBs under the hood, and create a branded-experience that provided differentiation in a crowded market.
TRE: Designed for high performance athletes
TRE is designed for performance-focused athletes interested in optimizing their cycling, running, and swimming prowess. TRE has a rubber body and a dead front display with durable metal buttons, providing versatility in various environments. These features also reduce glare and enhance comfort, making TRE a low-profile companion for those who demand high performance and nonintrusive functionality.
RORA: An all-encompassing alternative
RORA aims to diversify the sports and fitness market by being multi-functional and inclusive to all. RORA is a necklace-based tracker that leverages safety features such as a beacon link to share the users’ location for help when requested. With extra safety precautions and alarms, RORA provides the ability for anyone to feel safe while exercising.
Aesthetically, the device uses clean lines and pastels, invoking feelings of honesty, inclusivity, and accessibility to promote a consistent user experience.
