Title: System Prototype EE
Duration: Project Based Long-Term Vendor 
Location: Redmond, WA

Hours: Minimum 40 Hours/Week

Role:
– As a System Prototype Electrical Engineer, you will research, design, develop, and test high-density, wearable electronics.
– Create electrical design of novel or derivative prototype systems – electrical subsystems may include system-on-chip (SoC), support logic, FPGAs, microprocessors, custom integrated circuits, and system interconnection and may require modification.
– Collaborate with System Integrators, Product Design Engineers, Firmware/Software Developers, and Lab Technicians to execute full-stack prototypes that enable the organization to move faster and more efficiently through early, quantified decision-making.
– Ownership of schematic capture in OrCAD Capture.
– Ownership of circuit board layout in Allegro in collaboration with Layout Designers, Signal Integrity Engineers, and DFx Engineers.
– Plan and execute hardware power-on & basic functionality test for new designs.
– Communicate hardware bring-up dependencies to low-level firmware teams.
– Support scaled build and deployment of prototype systems to end users.

Skills:
– At least 5 years experience as a EE design engineer in the consumer electronics or similar field.
– High density Rigid/flex board design and system integration experience.
– Knowledge of circuit board fabrication and assembly technology and sourcing.
– Hands on lab skills. Rapid prototyping with available resources. Can-do attitude.
– Ability to use standard electrical lab equipment like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
– Basic understanding of core tech areas, such as SoC, sensor, wireless, audio, display, digital interfaces (USB, MIPI, PCIE, SPI, I2C). Capable of designing, bringing up and evaluating projects from those areas.
– Ability to drive projects with high ambiguity, multiple paths, and fuzzy future to clarity.
– Basic understanding of embedded software architecture and ability to interpret expected code functionality, especially C.
– Use automation to help team improve project quality, as well as scale to more projects.

Education: BSEE or related field.
