Jim is a self-taught embedded software engineer who began his career at Boeing, where he was on the team to built Boeing’s first internal HR website. After transitioning to embedded software, his work included pick-and-place robots, Learjet 85 power systems, and emergency medical devices.

His specialization is real-time embedded processing. He’s experienced in PCB design and fabrication, holds a Master’s of Software Engineering, and has nearly 20 years of OpenCV experience.

Jim has been a FIRST Robotics mentor for high school students for the past nineteen years. He’s also a dedicated fan of live theatre, regular attendee of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and has even built an iOS app for tracking his theater attendance.
