With a PhD in Rhetoric and Cultural Studies, Cara served as the Executive Director of Oregon Humanities (Oregon’s NEH affiliate) for 7 years before moving on to the creative/tech sector, where she’s spent the last 6 years leading strategic and research-based campaigns, supporting organizations like the Emerson Collective, Nike’s Girl Effect, Spoon Foundation, Pacific Northwest College of Art, Schwab Charitable, Circle Media Labs, Oregon State’s Office of the Treasury, PwC’s Corporate Responsibility, and Capital Group’s Advancing Anti-Racism Initiative.

Cara is the board chair at the Visible Alliance, a non-profit that provides creative services free of charge to organizations serving BIPOC, immigrants, refugees, LGBTQ+, and underrepresented communities and causes.
