Title: Software Engineer
Duration: 1 year with possible extension 
Location: Onsite Redmond, WA
Benefits: Employee benefits at 100% including Medical, PTO, Holiday Pay, 401K Plan, and much more!
Hours: Minimum 40 Hours/Week 

Role:
– Assist hardware teams and EHS safety leads in reviewing facilities for radiation and laser safety compliance.
– Analyze safety hazards, and assist in creating safe operating procedures for hardware with potentially hazardous elements such as lasers, LEDs, Lamps, and X-ray and CT machines.
– Assist in developing corrective actions and communicating with stakeholders.
– Assist in developing methods for safety analysis using in-house equipment which reduces cost and improves turnaround time of testing and investigation.
– Perform testing to simulate faults and validate design and safety performance.
– Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of staff.
– Adaptation and innovation when working with staff help them establish procedures to ensure compliance with requirements.

Skills:
– 4 Years of Non-Ionizing Radiation Safety experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
– Familiarity with multiple types of radiation and laser sources, x-ray-generating machines, lasers, and LEDs
– Experience in a technical/engineering role that focused on field testing, failure analysis, reliability, or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications:
– Experience working in a hardware production environment.
– Ability to influence teams indirectly through timely, accurate, and powerful analysis.
– Experience in safety work associated with laser and LEDs and experience with IEC 60825, IEC 62471, and ANSI Z136.1 compliance.
– Experience in safety investigations, either during the development process or failure analysis

Education: Bachelor’s degree in physics, Optical Sciences or Engineering, Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Physics, or a related discipline.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Range $70/hr – $80/hr.
