What we need:

The Chief Financial Officer leads all aspects of finance at Fresh Consulting including financial planning, operational analysis, GAAP-based accounting, and treasury.  Leading growth through building teams, partnering across the organization, creating processes, and developing insights are important parts of this role.  This position is also a key part of the executive team and is expected to be an at-large leader throughout Fresh.

We’re looking for someone with accounting experience, operations experience, and deal/growth experience, who can understand the financial analysis, forecasting, and accounting side deeply but also partner on the operations and growth/deals/investment side.

Role Capabilities:

  • Mastery of accounting and GAAP.  Ability to oversee and make judgment decisions regarding accounting policies and estimates.  Capability to oversee annual financial audit with internal team and external auditors, and state, local, and federal tax teams (via outside CPA).
  • Deep understanding of operations and partnering across the organization to develop reporting insights, and efficiencies through better processes, tools, and automation.
  • Forecasting and analysis skills and experience to lead the development of forecasts and plans and work across the organization to execute according to plan
  • Ability to lead the financial aspect of acquisitions, especially valuation analysis of the purchase price, full due diligence, and post-deal financial integration
  • Confidence in working with outside investors (including Private Equity), leading in raising funds, and working with banks.
  • Ability to partner with the business development team to close major deals, and develop processes to improve sales efficiency
  • Partnering with operations and service practice area leaders to understand functional practice areas, project performance (job costing), and individual performance and develop insights to guide other leaders in improving profitability.
  • Ability to advise and partner with the CEO and Board of Directors on the highest level of business strategy and plans.
  • Ability to lead large-scale initiatives and projects to help grow the company

Requirements Qualifications:

  • Degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
  • Strong quantitative skills and ability to use data to tell stories and identify opportunities
  • Confident in making judgment decisions in situations that may involve ambiguity
  • Ideally, 12+ years of experience in finance or related fields
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience driving impact through direct and indirect teams
  • Demonstrated past experience driving growth at a small or medium business

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA / CPA / equivalent designation
  • Experience working with professional service or consulting firms
  • Prior experience as a Chief Financial Officer or equivalent
  • Public accounting experience on the resume is nice, but not required.  Also, we probably don’t want someone who has spent their entire career in public accounting without any other financial experience yet as this is only ⅓ of the role.

We’re big believers in empowering our team to do their best work by offering:

  • High integrity, values-driven Executive Leadership Team
  • Competitive salary and benefits plan
  • HSA / HRA Options to Medical Plans
  • Employee Insurance premiums paid by Fresh
  • Competitive time-off plans
  • Wellness Program
  • 401K with partial matching
  • Training and development programs
  • Daily catered lunch
  • Partnerships with interesting and engaging clients who align with our values
  • Fun and collaborative work environment with a focus on growth

For a Washington-State-based role, the base salary hiring range for this position is $200k to $250k. Total compensation will include elements of company equity and performance bonuses.
