What We Need:

You are a business development professional with a solid foundation in selling consulting services to medium and large companies by building long-term relationships. You have experience working for a design consultancy, creative agency, or design studio in the past and are a fan of design in some capacity. You understand the vital role that design can play for a company and can speak to all kinds of clients about the value of design, design research, design processes, and highly capable design teams.  

What You’ll Do:

As part of our Business Development team, you understand how design services can pave the way for larger software, hardware, or robotics engagements with relevant clients and will actively seek to build that pipeline. You are looking to enrich the quality of a potential client’s product or service through design and are keen on demonstrating a clear return on their investment. You will be surrounded by talented, sophisticated, and creative colleagues who will partner with you to drive success for you and the team.


  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the fields of User Experience Design, Website Design, Branding, and Video Production
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and challenges
  • Collaborate with Practice Area teams to develop compelling project proposals and presentations that showcase our experience design capabilities as they apply to the client’s unique needs
  • Drive the sales process from prospecting and lead generation to project closure and contract negotiation
  • Write thorough and clear notes, summaries, project proposals, and contract documentation
  • Stay abreast of design trends, industry trends, and emerging technologies to offer innovative solutions to clients
  • Seek industry verticals where design and video solutions may not be prioritized, traditional, or standard practice, and successfully generate leads and opportunities
  • Evangelize client partnerships and project teams’ outcomes among internal peers and stakeholders

What You’ll Bring:

  • A strong working knowledge of the fundamentals of interaction design, user-centered experience design, brand development, digital marketing, and the creative process
  • Ability to keep up with the new platforms and technologies for the digital channel and related media
  • Phenomenal storytelling skills, translating a client’s needs plus Fresh’s skillsets to emerge into a potent story about the shared consulting experience
  • Exceptional creative and strategic thinking, with the ability to translate ideas into actionable plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and internal teams
  • Strong understanding of creative and design work, including the processes and best practices used
  • Ability to articulate the value of the various tools in a design team’s toolkit and how they are used to generate moving and meaningful design outcomes
  • A proven track record of driving and closing SMB and enterprise deals
  • Passion and commitment to customer success and delivery excellence
  • 8-10 years of proven business development experience
  • An existing book of businesses hungry for cutting-edge innovation and solutions

Bonus Skills:

  • Deep experience in design, custom software development & system integration, and/or hardware engineering
  • Specialized experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, AI/ML, RPA, strategy and advisory, and/or custom software development consulting services

For Washington-State-based role, the base salary hiring range for this position is $80k to $100k with a commission structure in place for closed work. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
